Ingredients

  • 4 cups water

  • 4 Thai black tea bags or 4 tablespoons Thai tea mix

  • 12 star anise pods

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom (optional)

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk or whole milk

  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil.

  2. Add tea bags or tea mix, star anise, and cardamom (if using).

  3. Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.

  4. Let steep for 20 minutes.

  5. Strain to remove solids.

  6. Stir in sugar while tea is hot. Let cool.

  7. Fill glasses with ice and pour tea over.

  8. Top each glass with a mix of condensed and evaporated milk.
