  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a 9x13-inch pan with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Add egg and vanilla; mix until dough forms.
  • Press half the dough into the pan for the crust. Bake for 15 minutes.
  • In another bowl, toss apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cornstarch, and lemon juice.
  • Spread apple mixture over the crust evenly.
  • Crumble the remaining dough over the apples.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Let cool before slicing.
