  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
  • 1/2 cup milk or broth
  • 1 bag (28 oz) frozen French fries
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or any cheese blend)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until beef is browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the beef mixture. Stir well.
  • Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and milk or broth, and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased casserole dish.
  • Arrange the frozen French fries in a single layer on top of the beef mixture.
  • Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes until the fries are crispy.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or green onions and serve warm.
