Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Sesame seeds & chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  • Toss chicken with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Pour in the sauce mixture and stir well. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until thickened.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve with rice or vegetables.

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs for juicier results.
  • Add more red pepper flakes for extra heat.
  • Serve over jasmine rice for a complete meal.
