Ground beef is slow-cooked with barbecue sauce, baked beans, and spices, then topped with cheddar cheese for a bold and flavorful sandwich.   • 2 lbs ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (15 oz) can baked beans, drained
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (for topping)
  • 6-8 sandwich buns (brioche or Kaiser rolls)
  • Pickles, jalapeños, or coleslaw for toppings (optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for browning the beef)

Instructions

  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet, cooking until softened.
  • Transfer the beef mixture to the slow cooker. Add baked beans, barbecue sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, chili powder, black pepper, and salt.
  • Cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 2-3 hours.
  • Once done, spoon the beef mixture onto sandwich buns. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and optional toppings like pickles, jalapeños, or coleslaw.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy.
